Go Paperless

Paper waste is one of the serious problems that cause environmental impact. Offices, schools, and other industries use paper in writing, drawing, printing, etc. Most people use it only once and later will dispose it in the trashcan. In an office, an estimated 10,000 sheets of paper are consumed each year, and about 45% of printed documents are discarded into waste (O’Mara, 2021). The increasing paper waste has a harmful effect on the forest habitat as paper is mainly made out of trees. According to Tailor (2019), the drawbacks of paper waste results in the destruction of forest, rising landfill volume, and littering. Therefore, it constitutes ecological deterioration. I did not state that we need to entirely omit papers but to conserve the use of papers in a healthy way.

As an alternative, we can use our gadgets like laptop, tablet, or phone than using papers. There are features that are the same as paper but more useful and better in comparison with papers. With this, the advancement of technology contributes to people and the environment.

The following are the benefits why of choosing paperless (digital) 1. Convenient 2. Carry on the go 3. Anytime, anywhere (depending on the application) 4. Using online storage like Google Drive or One Drive 5. Easier to take notes 6. Highlighter is not a problem 7. Files can be shared with others 8. Documents are organized and easy to navigate 9. Can be used multiple times 10. Long life span
